Paid Search Optimization or PSO is a Search Optimization Strategy, that utilizes the power of money to rank websites on different platforms. Initially, it was believed that PSO is only related to Search Engines, but as different social networking websites also started selling advertisement spaces on their platform, PSO is now the only means to rank your website.
As the name suggests, Paid Search Optimization (PSO) is a way to rank websites and digital assets on different platforms using the power of money.
The owner of the website or digital asset starts a digital campaign or advertisement with one or many advertisement companies like Google Adsense, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Quora Ads, and many more, then their website starts ranking on these and different other websites that work as their affiliates.
For example, the ads that you are seeing on this web page are shown by Google and Adsterra, these ads are purchased by people who want to rank their websites or to sell their products.
Another example is the sponsored emails and search items that you see on search engines while searching for a keyword. Those all are purchased links that are part of the PSO.
There are several types of PSOs, some of which we will discuss below.
This is the one that we have already discussed. In this PSO technique, companies buy ads to rank their websites or digital assets. They gain traffic from paid advertisements only. These can be shown on web pages or in SERPs as sponsored content.
This method of PSO requires the person having a website or digital asset to buy backlinks from big companies or websites that have a Domain Ranking of 80+. The backlink profiles and topics of these websites are so rich that Google or any other search engine never penalizes these companies.
Therefore, people or companies with big budgets are easily able to rank for their keywords, because they have already bought backlinks with several high-ranking websites.
Fake News Releases are a way of PSO that involves News Releases with big media houses, just using money. There is no substantial benefit for any user or the media house, and only monetary benefit is there.
This is quite similar to purchasing backlinks, but media houses deliberately mention new organizations and things that are happening in an organization to drive traffic to those websites using their articles. Therefore, these are 100% manipulations of search engine results.
There are several other techniques as well which encompass PSOs, like purchasing domains that already have traffic like Expired Domains, etc.
So, one can say that PSO or Paid Search Optimization is the norm of the hour these days, and ranking on any search engine or social networking platform is only a matter of how much money you have to spend.
