SEO has become an irrelevant thing these days. Although you can rank by following good practices, you won't get as much exposure as is needed to make enough money online.
With the advent of Artificial intelligence, search engines have started including chat formats for search queries because of which people don't have to visit websites to look for answers or information. They can just type their query on their chat applications and they will get an answer to the same.
There was a time when content was king, and people were able to rank if they had good quality content that could explain everything about a particular topic, but these days content has just become a secondary thing.
Search Engines have started plagiarising content from websites and blogs and they vomit out information in front of the user as per their search queries. Although they give references, still it is like copying a scientific research paper, summarizing it, giving the best output and crux of the research, and then just giving a small reference of the person who has worked hard to write it.
There are no credits to that website or blog anymore. Only giving references won't send people to that website, because those websites serve no purpose but just a knowledge base for the search engines who are making money, and we all are just tolerating this because those organizations are big and we cannot raise our voices against them.

This is sad to see search results degrading day by day, and most of the search results although good for users searching are bad for the users posting the data.
There was a time when you used to explore new things while searching for your query. Today you get what you have searched for exactly, even if the AI hasn't got anything relevant, you will still get something close enough but not everything.
This creates an issue, where people are limited to the solution provided but are not able to explore new and untapped areas of the internet.
So, for research, if I am searching about Digital Marketing, I might normally get results about black hat SEO as well, and so we do some research about the same as well, but when we ask the definition of digital marketing on AI-enabled chatbot, we mostly get information limited to our topic and not other things happening around the world.
Plus, the website owners and bloggers that post the content are not getting anything from search engines. Search Engines are just utilizing the information and providing the same to the users searching for the topic, but they are not giving anything to the website or blog owners.
At least they can have a system to provide commission to people that host the content. This happens also because the website and blog owners are not together on this thing. They are just giving control to a big organization and just living on the breadcrumbs that these companies are providing.
The only way to make money online using your website or blog is if you can pay for advertisements and promote your website. This will get more paid traffic to your website because if you are only putting content and waiting for people to come to your website, this is not going to happen anytime soon. After all, search results have changed now.
I am writing the conclusion, but it is not a ChatGPT article. A human has written it, and I want you guys to wake up to this thing that we have given all of our control to a few companies these days. It is better to use other websites than trust search engines that are just taking advantage of people and their resources.
Get together before it is too late and you have just messed up everything. Connect with real people online on forums and interact with them and form bonds that could last longer.
